The Easystreet Big Band is an 18 piece swing band based in St Helens, Merseyside.

The bands main focus is keeping big band music alive by practicing and performing numbers made famous by the most high profile big bands from the heyday of swing music.

Count Basie, Stan Kenton, Duke Ellington and of course Glenn Miller numbers feature highly in their repertoire.

The band is made up of amateur and professional musicians and music educationalists who dedicate time and enthusiasm at weekly rehearsal and monthly performances.

The age range of members is 15 to 70  ( as at February 2010 ) and the playing experience of members ranges from 3 years to 61 years.

A typical performance by the Easystreet Big Band would almost certainly feature vocalists. The band currently has three vocalists who compliment the big band standards with vocal numbers from the Rat Pack era and beyond.

Easystreet Big Band  will consider performing at many events but through the logistics of co-ordinating the time demands of 18 musicians we limit ourselves to a target of 12 gigs per year.
