Paul Speakman is apparently the oldest member of the sax section. Paul originally joined the "St Helens Music centre Swing Band" in 1982 aged 11.

Paul has played alto, tenor and baritone saxophones with the band and clarinet.

Outside the Easystreet Big Band, Paul can be found playing with the Jazz Octet BBOCTET and the saxophone quartet CORANTA

2010 has seen Paul front up the Monday night jazz Jam at the Black Bull in St Helens, bringing its own improvisational rewards and challenges.
